Regista: Martin Guigui
Produzione:Crazy Dreams Entertainment
Anno: 2002
Durata:92
Cast:Dahlia Waingort, Faye Dunaway, Ian Somerhalder, Lauren Holly, Tom Skeritt

Changing Hearts
focuses on the moving relationship which develops between Amber Connors
(Lauren Holly), a beautiful idealist faced with a powerful, personal
challenge who’s determined to transfer her sense of hope and wonder to
Jason (Ian Somerhalder) a severely disillusioned young man – before
it’s too late.  The film also follows Betty Miller (Faye Dunaway), a
bossy, cantankerous older woman Amber befriends.  Betty has spent her
entire adult life building her defenses, only to have them
systematically worn down by the town’s resident philanderer, Johnny
Pinkley (Tom Skerritt) – an aging charmer and hopeless romantic
determined to win back Betty’s love after breaking her heart decades
earlier by going off to the Korean War.  A story of resilience in the
grand Southern tradition, Colored Eggs explores what it is about life that inspires people to fight for it.

The
ensemble also includes stellar performances by character actors Edie
McClurg as the quirky and helpful Nurse Rollins and Janet Carroll as
Mrs. Lane, head of the Baptist Women’s League and hospital do-gooder.
In addition to the ensemble cast, the film features musical
performances by veteran recording artist Rita Coolidge and Earl and
Randy Scruggs, alongside Grand Ole Opry country singers Jan Howard and
Jeannie Sealy.

Directed by: Martin Guigui
Cast: Lauren Holly, Faye Dunaway, Tom Skerritt, Ian Somerhalder

A shared affliction -- namely, breast cancer -- forges an unlikely friendship between two Southern women, ebullient young Amber Collins (Lauren Holly) and crabby, reclusive oldster Betty Miller (Faye Dunaway). As they join forces to battle and cope with their disease, Amber and Betty also end up helping one another with their respective romantic entanglements. Tom Skerritt is cast as Betty's faithless former flame, Johnny Pinkley (now the self-styled Lothario of a nursing home), while Ian Somerhalder plays Amber's troubled -- and much younger -- amour Jason Kelly. Daniel Wright adapted the script of this independently produced movie from his own award-winning play Colored Eggs (the film's working title), retaining the original's sizeable supporting cast of lovable eccentrics. Decked out with musical highlights by Rita Coolidge, Earl and Randy Scruggs, Jan Howard, and Jeannie Seely, Changing Hearts was given scattered theatrical release in 2002 before it was picked up for TV play by the Lifetime cable network. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
