Vampire Diaries è tipo impazzito da quando è ritornato dalle vacanze. Damon (Ian Somerhalder) sembra aver abbracciato il suo lato più dolce, che lo aiuta a costruire un legame con Elena (Nina Dobrev). Damon che diventa buono più significare che Elena corra fra le sue braccia? Non proprio, racconta Somerhalder, che spiega a TVGuide.com che c’è solo una donna per Damon. E su Damon che diventa buono, Somerhalder dice: “non credo che arriveremo a tanto.”
“Damon si diverte solamente,”dice. “Damon è in questo modo. Scherzoso e sorridente, e c’è qualcosa in lui che da divertire Elena quando è vicina a Damon. Pazza com’è e più cerca di odiarlo, e lui la fa ridere. Credo che lei potrebbe iniziare a fidarsi di Damon se farà in modo di mettergliela in un modo in cui lei possa accettare la sua fiducia.”
Damon non è sempre ottimista. Somerhalder ci dice che nel prossimo episodio della serie della CW sarà angustiato. “Ho dovuto girare una scena in cui Damon non era felice per niente…e la mia giornata è stata tutta di riprese perché ero triste. Normalmente giro per il set sorridente, e scherzoso, pronto a fare scherzi a tutti. (Paul Wesley che interpreta Stefan) è sempre così inteso, perché ha così tante cose per la testa. Ho pensato cavolo, è impegnativo.”
Nel profondo Damon desidera Katherine. “Lei è la ragazza”dice. “E’ tutto ciò che lui vuole. E’l’amore. Guarda lo so che è banale, ma è un vecchio adagio, “l’amore conquista tutto”. E’ ciò che ci guida in ogni scelta in ogni forma.”
“Damon sente la mancanza di suo fratello e della sua ragazza , li rivuole nella sua vita,” aggiunge. “Ha aspettato 150 anni per riavere la sua ragazza. La trova ad un certo momento.”
Una volta che Katherine sarà tornata nel quadretto, sebbene, Somerhalder non è sicuro che Damon riavrà la sua ragazza, “ so solo che lui la vuole ed ha una sete insaziabile di trovarla. E non si fermerà finchè la sete non sarà saziata.”

'The Vampire Diaries' actor Ian Somerhalder shared with TV Guide his thoughts on his character, Damon's, recent acts of kindness.

Ian was asked if he thinks Damon will turn into a "nice guy" vampire?

"I don't think it will go all the way to that place."

He says that Damon may be bad in some ways, but Elena, played by Nina Dobrev, can't seem to resist his charms.

"Damon only has fun," he said. "Damon is that way, smiling and joking, and there's something about him that makes Elena fun when she's around Damon. As crazy as she is and as much as she tries to hate him, he makes her smile sometimes. I think maybe she might start trusting Damon if he presents it to her that she can."

He shared that he doesn't envy how anguished Paul Wesley's character has to be, it takes a toll:

"I had to shoot a scene where Damon was not happy at all. ... and my whole day was shot because I was miserable. Normally I walk around set laughing and joking, pulling pranks on people and just screwing with everyone. [Paul Wesley, who plays Stefan] is always so intense, because he's got so much going on in his mind. I thought, whoa, that's heavy."

Ian doesn't believe that Damon is meant to end up with Elena. His heart belongs to Katherine (the female vampire who turned him, also played by Nina Dobrev).

"That's his girl," he said. "That's all he wants. It's love. Look, I know it's so trite, but it is that old adage, 'Love conquers all.' It's what drives us in every way shape and form." "Damon misses his brother and his girl and he wants them both back in his life," he added. "He's waited 150 years to get his girl back. He finds her at some point fairly soon."

Even though Katherine is set to come back, Somerhalder says he's unsure if Damon will actually get the girl,

"but I just know he wants her and he has an insatiable thirst to find her. He's not going to stop until that thirst is quenched."

Are you tuning in? Do you want to see Damon back with Katherine? Or to steal Elena away from Stefan?
